Kevin LoomisName: Kevin Loomis

Favorite Bike Trails: Local– Anderson Truck Trail. 9 miles out and back, 1,300’ elevation gain, and the sweetest, fastest single-track just 15 minutes away. Try riding it in the morning in the fog, at the top you break free looking down at mountain peaks poking out of the clouds.

Epic Trail– Nobel Canyon with the Laguna Loop. Ahh, Noble Canyon, just the name Nobel says it all. This 25 mile strenuous trail has it all, Alpine Meadows, Alpine Forests, Canyons, Oak Groves, Water Falls, Creeks, Desert, Cliffs, and best of all – 23 miles of Advanced single-track. Any ride at Noble is always a good ride.

Favorite Food After a Ride: Mexican! Carne Asada Burrito with Jalapenos always hits the spot.

Favorite Bible Verse: Mathew 7:24-27 24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

Best Crash: I call it the ‘Sailor Dive’ crash. You know, when we were kids we did the sailor dive, hands at our sides and dove in the water. I was on this awesome single-track in Woodland Hills going through a rock field. Everything was perfect, I saw the line, was bouncing off and over rocks everywhere, the MO was up and I was in the zone. About ? of the way through, I got this STUPID idea I was going too fast and decided to play it cautious. I broke the cardinal MTB rule, NEVER LOOSE YOUR MO! My front tire rolled over this nice rock but did not have enough MO to go over the next one – OTB for me! I flew through the air with my arms at my sides and landed headfirst on a rock.  If it were any other body part I may have gotten hurt, but since it was only my head, I brushed off the ‘trail frosting’ and had an awesome day. Yes, I kept the MO up! BTW, there is a reason HELMETS ARE MANDATORY ON OUR RIDES.

BANANA boy!Name: Jason Berchek

Favorite Bike Trail: Sycamore Canyon (Medina) to Martha's Grove / Cardiac / Rocky Ridge / Slaughterhouse Canyon.

Favorite Food After a Ride: BANANA’S!!!  Gee what a surprise.

Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Best Crash: Back in the day (1988) I rode my road bike to work. I was a busboy at a restaurant and had to work nights. I was riding home from work one night, the street lights were the only lights I had. I was hauling but down this hill at about 30 mph or so and came to a railroad crossing. I pulled my front tire over the first rail, and came down on the second. The next thing I know, I'm laying on the ground looking up at a street light. Did I have a helmet on? No. I wearily get to my feet to look for my bike and find it in two pieces. Thankfully, I was only two blocks from my house and was able to walk home. The front wheel in one hand, and the rest of the bike in the other. Bleeding profusely from my forehead, I telephoned a friend to have his mother come and clean me up before my mom came home. The bike's down tube was bent in half, never to be fixed again. I ended up at the hospital getting 8 stiches to bring the gash in my forehead together.

Will CarrerasName: Will Carreras (otherwise known as Crash Carreras)

Favorite Bike Trail: Nobel Canyon

Favorite Food After a Ride: Fois Gras as an appetizer followed by fresh baby greens topped with wild mushroom Fricassee and a balsamic rosemary vinaigrette on the side. For the main course I prefer a pan-seared halibut with an orange buerre blanc. All finished with a dark chocolate genache torte, and steaming cup of cappuccino.

Favorite Bible Verse: Isaiah 43:5-7 5Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west; 6I will say to the north, "Give them up!' and to the south, "Do not keep them back!' bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth-- 7Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him."

Best Crash: It was on the Santa Anna trail in the San Bernardino Mountains and it was my second day with clip-less pedals. I was warned about dry loose sand conditions which I quickly forgot as I tried to follow three much more experienced riders than myself. I had a couple small trial falls and then the big one came. I went over the edge of the cliff, which thank God it was a gently slopping one, nonetheless painful. Later while hurt and tired I proceeded to endo. I’m a little more careful these days, but not much, as I seem to have the same experience over and over and over……

Kyle KennedyName: Kyle Kennedy

Favorite Bike Trail: Santa Anna trail in the San Bernardino Mountains. This trail has it all; great single track, water crossings, long down-hills and a long climb to finish it off. I just wish it were a little closer.

Favorite Food After a Ride: #6 from Jack in Box, nothing beats the Ultimate Cheeseburger.

Favorite Bible Verse: Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

Best Crash: I have been pretty lucky not to have been involved in any serious crashes, maybe that is because of my great handling skills (yea right). I do believe that a ride without one decent crash or a little blood hasn’t really been a great ride. The most exciting crash I have had was crossing the stream at Padre Dam that became a 4 foot deep river after a rainstorm. When I tried to cross it going about 20 mph my bike stopped rather quickly as I continued over the handlebars and dove into the water. A little stunned I grabbed my bike and swam to the other side.

Kyle KennedyName: David Suter

Favorite Bike Trail: Local – Jackson to Mt. Fortuna and back. A hard climb to the top and fast technical single-track all the way down.
Epic – Most of the trails on the north side of Big Bear Lake. You could go all day and never run out of new trails.

Favorite Food After a Ride: Chicken, avocado and mushroom omelet. Don’t forget the home fries and toast.

Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 21:30 There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.

Best Crash: Must have been back in 2000 at Anderson Truck Trail. I thought I was doing myself a favor by getting smaller tires to go faster. I was riding IRC Mythos 2.1 tires. We were jamming down the trailer and a rock caught my front tire on the side and ripped it. It was an instant Pete Rose head first slide. Nothing broken, just a couple good cuts on my elbow and knees and a three mile walk back to the car.

The Gas Man!Name: Steve Adams - stevea at adamsadvertising dot net

Favorite Bike Trail: San Juan. As a shuttle of course. Why anyone would want to ride up that, I'll never understand.

Favorite Food After a Ride: A big fat jucie STEAK! Thats right... RED MEAT! YA! mashed potatos, and a whole lotta green vegies.

Favorite Bible Verses: Psalm 119:9-11 - How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to your word. With my whole heart I have sought you; Oh let me not wander from your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Best Crash: Anderson Truck Trail, Alpine, CA - First trip on my new "Free-Ride" bike... about halfway down "eco-challenge" took a nice drop and forgot were the trail went, grabbed way too much brake! Over the bars and through the air to grandmothers house we go... actully flew pretty good down another drop and landed on a big rock and a "cut-off" stump. OUCH! knocked the air out bad! nice cut from the stump, cuts, scrathes, etc. Had to try and ride the rest of the way out... coasting down hills etc. with alot of help from my friends (carrying my bike up the hills) I made it. Lasting injuries, 1 broken rib and my whole right side was a huge bruise and mean the whole side from under my arm to my calf.
