Men's Retreat Big Laguna Ride
Beginner to Intermediate
5-7 miles, few hundred feet of gain
November 28th - after lunch
Hello Men of the Rock!
This ride is just for you. RockMTB will be leading an awesome ride for the Men's Retreat. It is in Big Laguna and all levels can attend. We will be leaving the retreat after lunch. Total time riding should be around 1 to 1 ½ hours. Geared bikes are required and helmets mandatory.
We will be starting at the famed Nobel Canyon Trailhead, very close to the retreat. We are NOT riding Nobel, but will be riding the equally beautiful Laguna Loop Trail. The majority of the ride is twisty singletrack through high alpine forests and fields. The terrain is gentle with some minor, easy climbing. Total distance will be between 5-7 miles and we may split the group up if two levels form. There are no ‘technical’ sections and this ride is rated as beginner. For the intermediates, we may add a bonus loop for more mileage and elevation.
As a recommendation, do not over-eat at lunch! Nothing is worse than starting a ride on a stuffed belly! However, the comedic effect of spewing your lunch all over the trail will be memorialized at the retreat! We may even be fortunate to capture on camera!
What to Bring:
1. Bike geared is mandatory, front suspension highly recommended. The bike does not need to be expensive, high-end or new.
2. Helmet mandatory.
3. Water liter is good.
4. Food power gel or energy food is good.
5. Gloves
6. Sunscreen (if necessary)
7. Prayer.
